Venio Systems New Hire to Focus on Education and Communication

Washington, D.C.: Venio Systems, the fastest growing eDiscovery provider, has hired Michelle Spencer as their Director of Education and Communication. This hire is part of Venio’s strategic focus on providing additional educational content for and communication with both their partners and the legal marketplace as a whole.

Spencer has spent most of her entire career working in law firms, first on legal teams as a paralegal and then in IT focusing on training and support. For the last several years, Spencer has consulted with law firms on their use and adoption of technology, as well as designing innovative training programs. This makes her the ideal candidate to continue to develop and improve Venio’s existing Certified Administrator program, as well as several new offerings. Stay tuned for additional announcements in 2019.

Long-term, deep ties to the legal technology community are another key reason for Venio’s selection of Spencer as the right person for this job. By being active on social media and volunteering in organizations like the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA), Association for Training and Development (ATD), and Texas Judicial Committee on Information Technology (JCIT), she keeps her finger on the pulse of what is occurring in legal technology, the legal marketplace, and corporate education.

Spencer says, “I’m looking forward to getting back to the roots of my early career when I was actively working on cases with the lawyers I supported as a paralegal. Back then, the discovery was paper-based, but supporting folks with those same tasks in law firms recently has kept me up to date with the developments as eDiscovery has grown. As a technologist and educator, I am particularly excited about the legal marketplace finally adopting assisted review technology that utilizes artificial intelligence, such as Venio’s continuous active learning (CAL) module. It’s a fun time to be working in eDiscovery!”

Bimal Tamrakar, President of Venio Systems further explains, “Michelle has continuously worked with us to bring our Certified Administrator course to the next level and designed a CAL Workshop that she presented for our partners at ILTACON. We were impressed with her work, as well as her deep knowledge and connections in the legal community. We are very pleased to have her to join our team as Director of Education and Communication to bring more valuable education to our partners.”
